Drug description
Orbenin DC
Orbenin DC contains 500 mg cloxacillin as the benzathine salt with aluminum stearate, stearic acid, and liquid paraffin. Cloxacillin is a bactericidal penicillin-group antibiotic, active against Staphylococcus spp. (including penicillin-resistant strains), Streptococcus spp. (including S. agalactiae), and Corynebacterium pyogenes. Therapeutic effect lasts up to 4 weeks.
Used for treating cows with mastitis during the dry period, no later than 30 days before expected calving. Administered once intracisternally into each udder quarter after the last milking. Milk withdrawal — not earlier than 6 days after calving. Slaughter — after 30 days. Storage: 2–25°C, 4 years. Pack: 3 g in plastic syringes.
