Drug description
Antiparasitic Agent STRONGHOLD
Stronghold is a clear topical solution containing 6% or 12% selamectin. It has a broad spectrum of systemic nematocidal, insecticidal, and acaricidal activity.
The product is active against nematodes, insects, and sarcoptic mites in dogs and cats. It possesses larvicidal and ovicidal properties. The mechanism of action involves binding to receptors in the muscle and nerve tissue of parasites, increasing membrane permeability to chloride ions, resulting in paralysis and death.
The product is applied once to dry skin between the shoulder blades at the base of the neck. For prevention of re-infestation with fleas, apply once monthly. The animal may be bathed without restriction 2 hours after treatment.
Shelf life of the product is 3 years from date of manufacture. Store at temperatures between 2°C and 30°C.
