Drug description
Antibacterial Agent CONVENIA
Convenia is an antibacterial product containing cefovecin (as sodium salt). Cefovecin is a bactericidal third-generation cephalosporin antibiotic.
The product is active against Staphylococcus pseudintermedius, Pasteurella multocida, Porphyromonas spp., Prevotella spp., E. coli, and other microorganisms. After a single injection, therapeutic concentration is maintained in the body for 14 days.
Convenia is administered subcutaneously to dogs and cats at 1 mL per 10 kg (8 mg cefovecin/kg). If needed, a second injection may be given after 14 days. The treatment course must not exceed 4 injections.
Do not use in animals with hypersensitivity to penicillins or cephalosporins, in pregnant animals, or in puppies/kittens under 8 weeks of age. Store at 2°C–8°C. Shelf life of undiluted product: 3 years.
